This painting is inspired by my early childhood. In Mt. Angel OR. Father Hildebrand and other Benedictine monks would lead a procession for world peace. Families would gather to join the procession late afternoon to walk in prayer. Often we would light candles at some point on our journey.
The pioneer church is about 170 years old, situated on Crooked Finger Mountain about 4 miles above Scotts Mills OR. The event was a very successful way to impact the children about the concerns facing humanity, that not all people are free, and to strengthen our faith in the goodness and faithfulness
of Jesus Christ. His comfort and love is always present.
